From Organic Tourist Farm Gradišnik, set off along a pleasant forest trail towards Strojna. The path gradually climbs through the woods, where sunbeams play between the tree branches, passing secluded farms as the air becomes fresher with every step. At the top of the climb, Pokržnikov vrh (1,055 m) rewards you with one of the most beautiful views in the area – a wide panorama of Peca, the Austrian side, and the rolling Carinthian hills in the distance. There is also an orientation board at the top, showing the direction of the view and the names of the visible mountains. This is the perfect moment to stop, have a snack, or simply admire the beauty of the landscape stretching out below you.
The trail then gently descends, or continues along the ridge, towards the settlement of Strojna. There, you will discover true gems of Carinthian heritage: the impressive Janež Homestead, with its 17th-century wooden house, traditional balcony, and old granary, considered one of the most important monuments of vernacular architecture in Slovenia. Nearby, along with other large homesteads that feel almost like small hamlets, you will also find beautiful chapels and wayside shrines along the paths, as well as the Church of St. Ulrich. Together, they preserve the authentic atmosphere of a quiet, remote mountain farming past.
