You will have the opportunity to experience the farm in its entirety — not only by observing it, but with your own hands. Activities and Experiences vary in difficulty. You can try your hand at farm chores, discover the meaning of work and feel the satisfaction that comes from being in touch with nature. When the day begins differently
Farm chores
On our farm, children feel a connection with nature and animals, and very quickly they also develop a sense of responsibility. Their day can begin even before breakfast, when they feed the hens and collect eggs, which can later be prepared for breakfast.
They then watch the cows being milked and place feed in the manger for the cows, helping the milk flow better. They can also meet the calves and kittens, who are always waiting for their milk.
Discovering the Forest
Discovering the forest at Gradišnik Farm is not just a walk, but a deeper experience of nature, where every step reveals a new story. Beneath the treetops, where the light gently filters through the leaves, you will get to know the diversity of the woodland world — from majestic tree species to hidden plants thriving in the shade.
As you walk, a sense of calm and connection begins to grow, something only unspoilt nature can offer. You will learn about the importance of sustainable forest management, the role of individual ecosystems, and the richness hidden in every corner — from soft mosses to ancient roots. Berry picking
Berry picking brings together relaxation, simple joy, contact with nature, and the sweet gifts of the forest. In the company of an experienced guide, you head to forest edges and sunny clearings, where, at the right time of year, blueberries, raspberries, and other woodland delicacies can be found.
The focus is not simply on filling a basket, but on understanding nature’s rhythm — when the fruit is perfectly ripe, how to pick it without damaging the plant or the fruit, and why it is important to always leave something for nature as well. Piknik Plac is a special corner of the farm where nature breathes with a quiet, almost tangible energy. Before you, a wide view opens onto magnificent peaks — from Uršlja Gora, across Smrekovec and Peca, all the way to Obir in Austria — while below lie the hamlets of the Municipality of Prevalje, Leše, and Belšak. In the valley, the characteristic Carinthian celki can be seen as if in the palm of your hand — rounded farmsteads that embody a balance between fields, meadows, forests, and the homestead itself. In this scene, time seems to slow down, and one can easily surrender to a feeling of openness, peace, and connection with nature.
Here on the farm, we have built a small cottage that offers shelter from the sun or rain, as well as a pleasant place to rest. Here, you can take a moment for yourself and enjoy the delicacies from a crate prepared on our farm. The name PIKNIK PLAC did not come about by chance, as it carries the memory of moments when we sat in the grass with the children, opened a backpack, and enjoyed a simple snack, while a little further down the cows grazed and the air was filled with the song of crickets. These small yet precious moments have remained in our memory, and that is why we want our guests to experience them too — as a place where body and mind can truly relax, and where simplicity becomes the most beautiful experience.
